Materials
Oil paintings are available on canvas or wood panel with box frame. They may include pastel & acrylic underlayers. Texturing with modeling paste base layer is available on wood panel only. Works on paper are available on white, parchment, vellum or toned papers.
Conte is popular medium similar to a hard pastel used in sketching and academic drawing. Trois crayons is a technique using conte in 3 colors: sanguine (sienna), black and white.
